CSWN empower widows at Nasarawa IDPs camp

The Christian Solidarity World Wide Nigeria (CSWN), has donated some items to 34 widows at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Kadarko, Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.
The items which are aimed at empowering the women were presented at the weekend, after undergoing a 5-day skill acquisition trainung in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
Presenting the materials, National Director of the CSWN, Mrs. Liti Agera Teman, urged the beneficiaries to put the unfortunate incidents that led to the dead of their husbands behind and use the opportunity to forge ahead.
Kadarko, which borders Nasarawa and Benue states was at the receiving end during the bloody activities of rampaging herdsmen and cattle rustlers which led to the killing of many peopple.
The items presented by the CSWN include sewing machines, materials for making souvenirs, bags, beads, liquid soap, Izal, Shampoo and Air freshener.
Teman said the items were CSWN’s contribution towards alleviating the pitiable condition of the women so that they could generate some income to take care of their families.
According to her, CSWN propagates religious freedom and human rights through advocacy.
She appealed to both the federal and state governments to secure the communities affected by the attacks so that IDPs can go back and start rebuilding their lives.
The CSWN had recently empowered another set of 32 widows in Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna state, after a similar training.
