Plateau police commissioner removed


The Plateau state police commissioner, Undie Adie with has been removed with immediate effect following the killing of over 100 people by suspected fulani herdsmen.
The police high command in a statement on Tuesday appointed Bala Ciroma, as the new commissioner.
Suspected herdsmen had attacked three local government areas in the state during the weekend.
Terna Tyopev, the command’s spokesman, said handing over formalities by the two police commissioners have already taken place.
He also said Ibrahim Idris inspector-general of police, has directed Adie to report to the force headquarters in Abuja.
Ciroma was previously a deputy commissioner of police, criminal investigation and intelligence department, at the force headquarters in Abuja.
He had also served as head of operations at the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
