2019: Buhari Should save Nigerians the agony of misrule by stepping down

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to join the retiree’s club and save the nation the agony of more years of misrule characterised by untold economic hardship,
According to the PDP President Buhari lacks the capacity to connect with the social and economic realities of the country.
Spokesman of the party, I Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Wednesday, said Buhari should step must not seek re-election to save Nigerians from the current agony they are going through.
Reacting to statements credited to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Bola Tinubu who was quoted as saying ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, former head of state, should join the retirees club, the PDP said Buhari is the most qualified to joined join retirees club.
According to the PDP, “Every discerning Nigerian has discovered the fact that Asiwaju Tinubu is subtly passing a critical message to President Buhari and his supporters that he should not contest the 2019 election.
“Even Asiwaju Tinubu knows that President Buhari, for obvious reasons, is the most qualified of all our elder statesmen to join the retiree’s club and save the nation the agony of more years of misrule characterised by untold economic hardship, heavy bloodletting and general indignation.”
Ologbondiyan said further that “The supporters of President Buhari should therefore accept the reality by reading the handwriting on the wall and heed wise counsel from well-meaning Nigerians.”
